Vietnam’s Business and Economics Research Conference 2017 (VBER 2017) took place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in November

VBER 2017 ended after 2 days of fruitful discussions on risk and uncertainty (e.g. Credit Risk; Market Risk; VaR; CVaR; Distance to Default); public policy and regulations (e.g. Agriculture, Energy, Water, Transport); macroeconomics and exchange rate policy; labor economics and economics of education; regional economics; monetary and financial market integration; banking; financial analysis and management; and social capital. Honorable Ms. Yvonne Chan, Australian Deputy Consul General and Senior Trade Commissioner and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University opened the conference with the participants of approx. 100 people who are scholars from local and overseas including Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, and the United States took part in this event, hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Open University with the principal sponsorship of Thanh Thanh Cong Group (TTC Group)

The VBER conference is not an attempt to come up with short term solutions to the challenging issues currently facing Vietnam, rather, it is intended to provide opportunities to further examine how Vietnam’s long-term development can be enhanced. It also offered the chance for young Vietnamese scholars to present and receive constructive feedbacks to enhance their research skills through group discussions and conference sessions.
