To celebrate the Law Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (November 9^th, 1946 - November 9^th, 2019), from October 1^st, 2019 to November 2^nd, 2019 at the facilities of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law (No. 2 Nguyen Tat Thanh, District 4 and 123 National Highway 13, Thu Duc District) and 371 Nguyen Kiem, Go Vap District of Ho Chi Minh City Open University took place the “Legal lecture hall” competition 2019.

The competition was co-organized by the Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law and two clubs of Ho Chi Minh City Open University which are Probation Trial Club and Legal Propaganda Club, associated with Legal Club of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City.

The competition takes place in 03 rounds including preliminary round, semi-final and final. The preliminaty round is taken place online on the website of the competition which is based on Edu2review of Ebrand Index Value - EBIV International Credit Rating Corporation. The organizers select 10 candidates with the highest scores in preliminary round and conduct to random ballot, divide candidates into 05 teams to enter semi-final. In this round, the candidates  ring bell to answer and take oral examinations with jury council, 6 excellent candidates in second round are divided again into 02 teams with mission is studying a case, each plays role as                Lawyer or Procurator to participate in the proceedings in a presumed trial.

Two excellent teams from the semi-finals are provided with a real-life criminal case file by the Organizing Committee to present their views and litigate directly with the balloted role. The score is based on the content and performance, namely: the accuracy of the indictment, the impeachment essay, the pleading essay; the persuasiveness of views is presented in the debate; ability to apply accurately and appropriately legal grounds; suitable manners and attitudes for the role and argument skills, problem presentation.          

Experience the quite long period of the competition, from the first days of the preliminary round with the participation of over 5000 students from 3 universities, till the last days of the semi-final round with 15 teams. Closing the final round, the Procuracy team with the trio of Diem Trinh - Hoang My - Kim Ngoc (02 of them is representative of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Diem Trinh and Hoang My) had excellently conquer the Jury Council to become the champion of “Legal Lecture Hall” competition 2019.

Through quality competitions, Ho Chi Minh Open University hopes OU students to interact, learn more, have the opportunity to improve their knowledge in the fields of law, learn about the order and procedures of a criminal trial, and also apply those knowledge into reality. Besides, create an environment of exchange, cultivate experience and knowledge with students of other universities.
