The Faculty of Civil Engineering of Ho Chi Minh City Open University is organising a specialized seminar on “Updates on Design, Construction, and Material Solutions for Projects and TVN Group Scholarship Award Ceremony”.
On the morning of March 22, 2025, the Faculty of Construction at Ho Chi Minh City Open University held a specialized seminar, “Updates on Design, Construction, and Material Solutions for Buildings” and the “TVN Group Scholarship Award Ceremony” at Room 704, Ho Hao Hon Campus, District 1. This event was part of a series of activities celebrating the 33rd anniversary of the Faculty of Construction and the 35th anniversary of the University’s establishment, aiming to share professional knowledge and encourage students’ learning and development.
The seminar was honored to welcome: From TVN Group: Mr. Huynh Van Vien – Project Director of Ree Corp; Mr. Vo Quang Trung – Technical Director of Sagen Company; Mr. Vuong Ngoc Nam – Director of Enterprise 2, Nagecco Company; Mr. Ngo Phi Hai – Deputy Director of Enterprise 2, Nagecco Company; Mr. Vu Thanh Kien – Deputy Director of Eurostone Company; and other distinguished enterprises. From Ho Chi Minh City Open University: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Phuoc – Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, along with many lecturers and students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Phuoc – Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, expressed his delight and sincere gratitude to the sponsoring units. He emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City Open University consistently strives to expand knowledge and promote knowledge sharing among all parties. Accordingly, the Faculty of Civil Engineering actively organizes seminars to create forums for professional exchange, bringing practical value to the academic and professional communities. He highlighted that this seminar was not only significant for updating knowledge but also served as an opportunity for the faculty to act as a bridge between businesses and students, contributing to linking theory with practice. He hoped the seminar would receive many valuable contributions and opinions to improve the quality of training and research in the future.
In response, Mr. Huynh Van Vien – Representing TVN Group, expressed his honor to be a part of the event. He shared TVN Group’s desire to collaborate with sponsoring units and the University to organize more frequent seminars and academic exchanges, aiming to disseminate knowledge and promote sustainable development.
Led by Mr. Huynh Van Vien. – Representative of TVN Group, and invited experts, the specialized seminar “Updates on Design, Construction, and Material Solutions for Buildings” shared profound professional knowledge on modern building design trends, advanced construction techniques, new and environmentally friendly material solutions, and challenges in the construction industry. During the seminar, students eagerly discussed and raised questions, which also provided them with a more realistic perspective on their future careers.
During the event, TVN Group awarded 15 scholarships, each valued at 2 million VND, to support students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering who face difficult family circumstances and have achieved good academic results.
Ms. Nguyen Chau Thi Lan Phuong, a 21st-batch student and representative of scholarship recipients from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, shared her feelings and expressed gratitude to the businesses that have accompanied students of Ho Chi Minh City Open University: “The TVN Group scholarship is not only financial support but also a huge spiritual motivation, encouraging us to strive in our studies and pursue our dreams. The specialized seminar delivered practical value, helping students of the Faculty of Construction access the latest practical knowledge to stand firm on their learning journey, while also maintaining and developing a sustainable cooperative relationship between the University and businesses. This contributes to enhancing the quality of education and creating favorable conditions for the development of both parties.
