On the morning of June 4th, 2025, at Hall 602, Vo Van Tan Campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University organised a Seminar on Academic Advising – Homeroom Teacher Work for Full-time Undergraduate Programs for the academic year 2024 – 2025. This annual event aims to summarise and evaluate the effectiveness of academic advising and homeroom teacher duties during the 2024 – 2025 academic year, and to update new university regulations. It also serves as an opportunity for faculty to exchange ideas and propose practical solutions to support students in their studies and personal development.

The seminar was honoured to welcome: Prof.Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University; Dr. Senior Lecturer Le Xuan Truong – Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, along with leaders from various departments and faculty members serving as academic advisors and homeroom teachers.
In his opening remarks, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of the University, expressed gratitude and commended the efforts and dedication of the faculty involved in academic advising and homeroom duties over the past academic year. He emphasized the crucial role of academic advisors and homeroom teachers in bridging the gap between the university and students, effectively guiding, instructing, and providing essential information to students promptly.
“Furthermore, the university has launched a new version of the Academic Advisor – Homeroom Teacher Portal to facilitate better communication and support for students throughout their learning and personal development journey at the university”, said Prof.Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha.

Within the event’s framework, representatives from various departments provided information related to academic advising and homeroom teacher duties; updated new training regulations and policies; and introduced the new version of the Academic Advisor – Homeroom Teacher system.



Discussions focused on several key issues, such as the curriculum and learning outcomes for the English Language program; reward policies for graduating students, along with other proposals aimed at improving training quality and facilities to meet learners’ needs.

Through this seminar, the quality of academic advising and homeroom teacher duties was enhanced, and effective coordination among departments was strengthened, laying a solid foundation for supporting students throughout their learning and development process at the university.
