This academic competition was co-organised by the Vietnam Biological Association, under the sponsorship of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, and officially recognised by the Ministry of Education and Training. The contest gathered 26 teams from 25 universities and academies nationwide, with 155 contestants competing in both theoretical and practical categories.
Within the competition, contestants went through two sections. In the theoretical section, they were tested on knowledge in the following fields: Cell Biology (molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology), Plant Biology, Animal Biology, Genetics and Evolution, Ecology and Behaviour, and Biological Systematics.
Meanwhile, in the practical section, contestants applied their professional skills in areas such as Cell Biology, Plant Biology, Animal Biology, Genetics and Genetic Engineering, Microbiology, and Microbial Testing.
With solid knowledge and thorough preparation, the team of five students from the Faculty achieved remarkable results, including:
- Individual Award: Student Nguyen Ngoc Linh – Third Prize;
- Team Award: Ho Chi Minh City Open University Team – Excellent Achievement.

Participation in the competition provided an opportunity for the University’s students to demonstrate their research capabilities and apply their specialised knowledge in practical aspects of biology. It was also a valuable occasion for academic exchange and learning among students nationwide.

These achievements testify to the students from the Faculty of Biotechnology’s persistent efforts and academic rigour. They also reflect the dedicated guidance and close support of the Faculty’s lecturers.
This success is a source of pride not only for the participating students but also for the entire Faculty of Biotechnology and Ho Chi Minh City Open University. It will serve as motivation for future generations of students to continue striving, thereby improving training quality and affirming the Faculty’s position within the academic community.
