Cooperation agreement signing ceremony between Ho Chi Minh City Open University and financial–banking sector units

On the morning of April 15, 2025, at the Tradition Room, Vo Van Tan Campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University held a Signing Ceremony for a Cooperation Agreement with the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam-Saigon Branch and Southeast Asia Electrical Trading Joint Stock Company Bank – Ho Chi Minh City Branch (SACT HCMC).

Overview of the event

 From Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Dr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang – Vice President, and Prof. Dr. Senior Lecturer Ngo Thanh Trung – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, attended the event. Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam-Saigon Branch, Mr. Pham Ngoc Huong – Deputy Director of the branch, was present. Southeast Asia Electrical Trading Joint Stock Company Bank – Ho Chi Minh City Branch, Ms. Huynh Thi Diem Le – Branch Director attended the ceremony. Also in attendance were leaders, lecturers, and staff of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, along with representatives from partner enterprises.

Delivering remarks at the signing ceremony, Dr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang emphasized: “This cooperation agreement represents a valuable opportunity for the University and enterprises to strengthen connections and jointly create practical value, with students being the primary beneficiaries. Serving as a solid bridge between students and the business community, the University sincerely welcomes this occasion to listen to feedback and contributions from enterprises. This will help us continuously improve and update our training programs in line with actual demands, thereby equipping students with solid knowledge and professional skills to be ready for the job market upon graduation”.

According to the agreement, the parties will leverage their respective strengths and effectively utilize resources in terms of human capital, expertise, and infrastructure to support one another in education and training efforts, aiming to enhance the quality of human resources that closely align with business requirements.

Furthermore, activities such as company visits, field trips, and internships will be promoted, allowing students early exposure to real-world working environments while still learning. These opportunities not only help students build practical skills and shape career thinking but also act as a bridge for enterprises to identify and engage with potential future talent.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Huong – Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam-Saigon Branch affirmed: “Through this cooperation agreement, Vietcombank hopes to offer students at Ho Chi Minh City Open University opportunities to access a professional working environment and develop strong foundations in financial and soft skills through field trips and internships. Moreover, we highly value the training quality of the University and will prioritize recruiting outstanding alumni to contribute to the bank’s future development”.

With nearly 20 years of development, the Faculty of Finance and Banking has continually strived to provide high-quality human resources for banks, financial institutions, securities companies, and businesses both domestically and internationally. In addition to its focus on academic training, the Faculty emphasizes real-world engagement through activities such as enterprise visits, career seminars, field trips, and internships, offering students practical experiences that reinforce their knowledge, skill development, and professional mindset.

Moreover, the Faculty also promotes extracurricular activities such as academic competitions, sports, and arts programs, helping students improve their physical health, nurture their spirit, expand social interactions, and strengthen bonds with the business community.
