On the morning of August 15th, 2025, at the Tradition Room, 97 Vo Van Tan Campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University held a signing ceremony for cooperation agreements with various organisations and enterprises operating in the field of Biotechnology. This event not only expanded the university’s partnership network for training activities but also aimed to leverage each unit’s expertise, thereby increasing opportunities for students to engage in practical learning experiences and career orientation.

The signing ceremony was honoured to welcome:
From Ho Chi Minh City Open University: Dr. Senior Lecturer Le Xuan Truong – Vice President of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Bao Chau – Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology.
From the partner organisations and enterprises: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao – Vice Director of the Institute of Life Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Quan – Director of the Institute for Circular Economy Development, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City; Ph. Dr. Nguyen Hai An – Director of Ho Chi Minh City Biotechnology Centre; Mr. Do The Anh – Representative of the Vietnam Institute of Animal and Veterninary Sceinces; Mr. Nguyen Duy Quang – Deputy Director of Dalat Natural Food JSC.
In his remarks, Dr. Senior Lecturer Le Xuan Truong – Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, shared: “Over the past 35 years of establishment and development, Ho Chi Minh City Open University has always received valuable support from agencies and businesses through many practical activities, such as participation in job fairs, career orientation workshops, guest lectures, and contributing feedback to curriculum development. In addition, the University has cooperated with businesses to conduct research projects based on practical needs, posted recruitment information on the Career Portal, and supported businesses in finding high-quality human resources among our students. These activities not only demonstrate the University’s appreciation and long-term commitment to its partner organisations but also serve as a solid foundation for further cooperation, aiming at projects and activities that bring real value to learners.”

Representing the partner organisations, Dr. Nguyen Hai An – Director of Ho Chi Minh City Biotechnology Centre stated: “This marks an important milestone for future cooperation among us. With our research capacity and ability to apply technology, we have many opportunities to jointly implement projects in life sciences, while also creating favourable conditions for students to participate in research, internships, and experiments, contributing to innovation and development.”

Within the framework of the program, the University signed cooperation agreements with the following units: the Institute of Life Sciences; the Institute for Circular Economy Development – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City; the Ho Chi Minh City Biotechnology Centre; the Vietnam Institute of Animal and Veterinary Sciences; and Dalat Natural Food JSC.




Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Bao Chau – Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology of Ho Chi Minh City Open University added: “Currently, the Faculty of Biotechnology, with over 900 undergraduate students, is running three training levels, aiming to enhance students’ knowledge and professional capacity. At the same time, the Faculty has expanded cooperation with businesses in internship supervision and co-organised many international seminars. The fact that students are able to visit and intern at partner institutions demonstrates the strong attention and support given to the University’s educational mission, particularly to the Faculty of Biotechnology.”

This signing ceremony not only marked the beginning of new cooperation programs but also reaffirmed the commitment between the University and enterprises in training high-quality human resources, particularly in the field of Biotechnology, to meet the increasing demands of the labour market.
