On December 28, 2024, at Hall 602, 97 Vo Van Tan Campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University solemnly held the 2024 Doctoral and Master’s Graduation Ceremony.
The ceremony was honored to welcome distinguished guests, including university leadership: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President; Dr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang – Vice President, along with department leaders, faculty members, 9 new Doctorate graduates, 162 new Master’s graduates, and many proud family members.
In his congratulatory speech, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – University president emphasised that this achievement not only marks a significant milestone in the graduates’ academic journey but also recognizes their relentless efforts in acquiring knowledge and personal development. He expressed his hope that, in the future, the knowledge and lessons gained, the valuable relationships formed with peers and professors, and the skills refined during their years at Ho Chi Minh City Open University will serve as invaluable assets connecting them to their families and society.
On behalf of the faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thuan – Editor-in-Chief of the University’s Science Journal, stated:
“Today, we gather to celebrate a momentous occasion, marking the final steps in your journey of mastering human knowledge. To reach this achievement, you have overcome numerous challenges, meeting rigorous academic, skill, and professional requirements while balancing work and family responsibilities. However, your perseverance proves that with determination and willpower, no challenge is insurmountable. Yet, knowledge is limitless, and learning never truly ends—it is a lifelong journey.”
At the ceremony, the university awarded 9 Doctoral degrees (including 5 in Business Administration, 2 in Economics, and 2 in English Language Teaching Methodology) and 162 Master’s degrees across 12 fields: Business Administration (38), Economics (1), Finance – Banking (11), Accounting (8), English Language Teaching Methodology (38), Chinese Language (10), Construction Engineering (5), Computer Science (6), Economic Law (25), Sociology (4), Biotechnology (9), and Construction Management (7). This brings the university’s total awarded degrees to 33 Doctorates and 3,217 Master’s degrees as of 2024.
Notably, 2024 marks the first year that 2 Doctorate degrees in English Language Teaching Methodology have been awarded.
Representing the new graduates, Dr. Tran Thi Thao, a graduate in English Language Teaching Methodology, proudly shared:
“We are honored to have gained invaluable knowledge and skills for our careers and future research. This journey is not just about earning a Master’s or Doctoral degree—it is about acquiring expertise, developing scientific thinking, and becoming part of the university’s postgraduate alumni community. We sincerely thank the university and our dedicated professors for their guidance and meticulous evaluation throughout our academic journey.
