On the morning of August 28th, 2025, at the Traditional Hall, 97 Vo Van Tan campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University (HCMCOU) held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement with Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB Bank) – Gia Dinh Branch and Vikki Digital Bank Securities Company Limited. The event aims to strengthen the link between training and practical application, improve the quality of human resources, and expand internship and career opportunities for students in the Finance and Banking sector.
The signing ceremony was honoured to welcome esteemed guests From Ho Chi Minh City Open University: Dr. Senior Lecturer Le Xuan Truong – Vice President of the university; Dr. Ngo Thanh Trung – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking; Dr. Nguyen Thi Dieu Linh – Vice Head of the Office of Student Affairs and Communication. From the signing enterprises: Mr. Huynh Anh Tuan – General Director of Vikki Digital Bank Securities Company Limited; Mr. Nguyen Nhat Linh Truong – Deputy Director of Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB Bank) – Gia Dinh Branch, along with employees from both organisations.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Senior Lecturer Le Xuan Truong – Vice President of the University, expressed his gratitude to the businesses for their continuous support in training and accompanying students. He emphasised that this valuable bond is demonstrated through practical activities such as business networking, recruitment support, and collaboration in training. The university will continue to expand its cooperation, aiming for more meaningful and effective activities for students.
Mr. Nguyen Nhat Linh Truong – representative of MB Bank – Gia Dinh Branch, emphasised: “Cooperation with the university not only helps students connect knowledge with practice but also contributes to providing high-quality human resources for the Finance and Banking industry. MB Bank hopes to welcome many potential students and work together to develop a strong workforce that meets the increasingly high demands of the market.”
Mr. Huynh Anh Tuan – Director of Vikki Digital Bank Securities Company Limited, stated: “In addition to the knowledge and skills equipped in the lecture hall, students need to be proactive in learning and practising to affirm their competence in a competitive environment. We believe that this cooperation will bring practical values, contributing to building a strong workforce for the future.”
Within the framework of the event, Dr. Ngo Thanh Trung – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, gave a brief overview of the Faculty’s operations. The Faculty was established in 2005 and has since implemented numerous activities that have deepened the university’s connections with external partners. The faculty always focuses on diversifying learning methods and on updating them to suit the practical context of the times. He expressed his desire to continue building a strong cooperative relationship with businesses and partners to achieve comprehensive development in the long run. This partnership will not only help the university innovate its training programs but also ensure that these innovations are grounded in reality and keep pace with the fast-changing trends in society.
According to the agreement, the cooperation focuses on three key objectives: Leveraging the strengths of each party, utilizing resources in facilities, personnel, and expertise to train high-quality human resources; Linking theory with practice and enhancing the professional effectiveness of all parties involved; Creating practical value, expanding internship and employment opportunities and developing professional skills for students, with the goal of building a workforce that meets societal needs.
The signing ceremony has opened up many prospects for cooperation between the university and businesses, creating an important foundation to link education with practical experience. It also provides students with opportunities for practical experience, enhancing their professional competence and career skills right from the lecture hall.
