Ho Chi Minh City Open University Promotes Exchange and Educational Innovation through International Cooperation

On the morning of July 21, 2025, at Room 104, Ho Hao Hon Campus, the Faculty of Finance – Banking, Ho Chi Minh City Open University (HCMCOU), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation with the Faculty of Economics, Sriracha Campus, Kasetsart University, Thailand. The signing ceremony was conducted online via the Cisco Webex platform.

The signing ceremony is a significant milestone in the University’s strategy of educational internationalization, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to expanding cooperation with prestigious training institutions worldwide. This aims to strengthen professional exchange and create favorable conditions for lecturers and students to access a modern, multicultural educational environment. It also serves as a foundation to promote joint training programs, collaborative research, and the development of high-quality human resources in the context of global integration.

Attending the program were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Ha – Dean of the Faculty of Finance – Banking, Ho Chi Minh City Open University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Parichart Tengsuwan – Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Sriracha Campus, Kasetsart University, Thailand, along with leaders, lecturers, and staff from both units.

Speaking at the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Ha – Dean of the Faculty of Finance – Banking, HCMCOU, emphasized: “The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is not just the beginning of a sustainable cooperative relationship but also a testament to the long-term commitment of both units in promoting exchange, research, and enhancing the learning experience for students. We believe that combining the resources, strengths, and expertise of both sides will contribute to creating quality academic programs, expanding the scope of experience, and providing comprehensive development opportunities for learners.”

On the partner’s side, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Parichart Tengsuwan, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Sriracha Campus, Kasetsart University, Thailand, also shared her excitement and highly appreciated the goodwill cooperation from Ho Chi Minh City Open University. She expects this cooperative relationship to continue its sustainable development in the coming years, bringing practical value to both parties and contributing to fostering educational connections between Vietnam and Thailand.

During the meeting, representatives from both universities exchanged and discussed in detail potential areas of cooperation, focusing on strengthening coordination in academic activities such as developing joint training programs and mutual credit recognition and transfer. Furthermore, the two units aim to cooperate in scientific research, organizing seminars, and publishing co-authored publications. Other contents include developing teaching capacity, implementing lecturer and student exchange programs, and sharing specialized documents and learning materials.
