On the morning of February 26th, 2025, at the Tradition Room, 97 Vo Van Tan Campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University held a press conference to officially sign a sponsorship contract for the 4th International Conference on “Structural Health Monitoring and Engineering Structures (SHM&ES)” with the theme “Advances in Sustainable Engineering and Management: Innovations to Reduce Energy Consumption and Carbon Footprint”, which will take place on August 7th–8th, 2025, in Nha Trang City.
This is an important step in preparing for an international event to bring together leading experts in structural health monitoring and sustainable engineering techniques. The conference will focus on creative solutions to reduce energy consumption and minimize greenhouse gas emissions in construction, along with advancements in sustainable engineering and management.
Attending the event, on behalf of Ho Chi Minh City Open University: Prof Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of the University; Esteemed faculty and leaders of various departments within the university. Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha emphasised the university’s focus on improving the quality of education, scientific research, and collaboration. The university regularly organises international conferences in various fields, especially in construction. Throughout three previous conferences, the Structural Health Monitoring and Engineering Structures (SHM&ES) conference has attracted many esteemed international experts, providing opportunities for sharing, exchanging, and updating the latest information in the field. In addition, the university places great importance on signing cooperation agreements with businesses to implement applied solutions and strengthen ties with practical needs. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha expressed hope for continued and sustainable cooperation among the parties.
He further mentioned: “The partners signing the agreement this time include alumni who represent businesses collaborating with the university. This is a fortunate and honourable opportunity, reflecting strong support from the alumni network for the university.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Cuong – Head of the Organizing Committee of the conference expressed gratitude for the support and sponsorship from the business units and stated: “The goal of the conference is to bring together scientists, engineers, and leading experts to discuss innovations in Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) and engineering structures, particularly focusing on sustainability. The conference will focus on the main theme of structural health monitoring (SHM) and sustainable engineering structures, including new designs to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions, techniques for diagnosing structural damage, and technical applications. The conference will also discuss management techniques for sustainable development, emphasising the integration of sustainability into engineering activities.”
