More than 800 new graduates from the online distance learning program received their diplomas at Ho Chi Minh City Open University.

On the morning of August 24th, 2025, at Hall 602, 97 Vo Van Tan campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University held a graduation ceremony for 807 new graduates from distance learning program. The event also honoured 221 students who achieved excellent academic results throughout their studies.

Overview of the event.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Senior Lecturer Le Xuan Truong – Vice President of the University, and Dr. Phan Thi Ngoc Thanh, Director of the Centre for Online Training. Also present were leaders from various university units, and most importantly, the new graduates and their families.

In his speech, Dr. Senior Lecturer Le Xuan Truong – Vice President congratulated the graduates on successfully completing their online training program, calling it a crucial milestone in their educational journey. He affirmed that these graduates represent a spirit of innovation, creativity, and integration. Their success today reflects their unwavering perseverance, continuous effort, strong self-discipline, and mastery of technology in the digital age. The diplomas they received are not only proof of their persistent journey but also motivation to continue cultivating knowledge and to remain resolute on their future paths.

Ly Anh Thuyen, a new graduate majoring in English Language, delivered a speech on behalf of the graduating class. She expressed sincere gratitude to the university’s leadership, lecturers, and staff from the academic and technical departments, as well as their families and friends, for their constant support throughout their long journey of pursuing knowledge in the online bachelor’s program. He stated that today’s bachelor’s degree is the result of their continuous efforts, opening up new opportunities and a promising future.

Since 2016, Ho Chi Minh City Open University has offered online training with 17 majors to over 23,000 students. This initiative is a significant step toward realising the university’s mission of building a learning society through flexible and convenient methods for students. The Online Bachelor’s Program provides advantages in terms of time and location, helping students easily balance their studies and work. In doing so, the university opens the doors of knowledge to everyone, regardless of gender, age, or profession, across the country.
