On the morning of March 28, 2025, at the University of Labour and Social Affairs (Campus II), Ho Chi Minh City Open University (HCMCOU) in collaboration with the University of Labour and Social Affairs (Campus II), and the Trade Union University co-organized the national scientific conference titled “Promoting the Spirit of the Great Spring Victory of 1975 in the Era of Vietnam’s National Advancement”.
The event was held to welcome representatives from Ho Chi Minh City Open University, including Dr. Do Sa Ky – Party Committee Secretary, and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – University President. From the co-organizing institutions, the conference welcomed the Association. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Ha – Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the Council of the University of Labour and Social Affairs, along with many esteemed lecturers and faculty members.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of HCMCOU and Vice Head of the Organizing Committee – emphasized: “Fifty years ago, the Spring 1975 General Offensive and Uprising, culminating in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, achieved complete victory. The spirit of the April 30, 1975 triumph still shines brightly in our era, as affirmed by the 4th National Congress of the Communist Party (December 1976):
“Time will pass, but the victory of our people in the resistance war against the U.S. to save the nation will forever be recorded in our national history as one of the most glorious chapters – a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism and human intelligence, a great achievement of the 20th century, with profound international and historical significance”.
This conference serves as a prestigious academic forum where researchers share new findings and contribute valuable documents about the Great Spring Victory of 1975″.
With 110 reports and presentations from researchers, lecturers, graduate students, and university students representing 50 agencies, universities, and research institutes nationwide, the conference helped clarify the enduring value of the historic victory and its influence in the modern era. Presentations not only outlined the core values of the victory but also highlighted the role of political theory in the sustainable development of the country.Â
Especially in the in-depth discussion sessions, scholars conducted comprehensive analyses on key topics, ranging from historical lessons to strategic directions for the renewal and development of the nation in its current era of resurgence.
The conference provided an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s glorious past while opening up new perspectives, aiming to awaken national pride and foster a sense of responsibility among the younger generation in the mission of national development.
