Signing ceremony of cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Daegu Cyber University (South Korea)

On the morning of March 14th, 2025, at Ho Hao Hon Campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University had the honor of welcoming representatives from Daegu Cyber University (South Korea) for the signing ceremony of a significant cooperation agreement between the two institutions. The signing aims to promote collaboration in research and teaching, facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience, expand international relations, and create opportunities for students — particularly those majoring in Korean Language Studies.

Overview of the event

The meeting was attended by the following representatives: From Ho Chi Minh City Open University: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of the University. From Daegu Cyber University (South Korea): Prof. Lee Geun Young – President of the University, along with faculty representatives from both institutions.

During the event, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha emphasized that the cooperation between the two universities would bring practical benefits to students and the academic communities of both countries. This collaboration not only contributes to improving the quality of education and providing students with access to a modern and advanced learning environment but also serves as an important bridge for cultural exchange between Vietnamese and Korean students.

Prof. Lee Geun Young – President of Daegu Cyber University, expressed his delight at the opportunity to collaborate with Ho Chi Minh City Open University. He expressed his hope that the two institutions would continue to expand their partnership, paving the way for further development in education, research, and student exchange programs.

At the signing ceremony, the two universities engaged in positive discussions and reached a consensus on several key areas. Specifically, both sides discussed potential international joint academic programs such as 2+2 and 3+1 models, as well as plans for future student and faculty exchanges. These programs aim to provide students with a well-rounded education that integrates both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, while also enhancing their language proficiency and essential soft skills for pursuing careers in a globalized environment.
