On the afternoon of January 11, 2025, at Hall 602, Vo Van Tan Campus Ho Chi Minh City Open University organized the seminar “Construction Management—Project Management of Green and Sustainable Constructions.” This event is part of a series celebrating the 35th anniversary of the university’s establishment (1990-2025) and the 33rd anniversary of the Faculty of Civil Engineering (1992-2025).
The seminar provided an opportunity for experts, businesses, faculty members, and students to exchange knowledge and updates on the latest trends in the construction industry, particularly in the management of green and sustainable buildings.
The seminar was honored to welcome distinguished guests, including: From Ho Chi Minh City Open University: Dr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang – Vice President of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Phuoc – Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. From the business sector: Mr. Huynh Van Vien – Representative of TVN Group, Mr. Do Huu Nhat Quang – Director of Green Viet Consulting Co., Ltd., Mr. Ton That Hung – Vice President of Quan Dat Manufacturing and Trading Co., Ltd., Mr. Doan Hao Hiep – Director of Eurostone Granite Joint Stock Company, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thuan – Director of Unic Joint Stock Company, Mr. Nguyen Phu Thuong – Director of Phu Thuong Construction Joint Stock Company. Also in attendance were faculty members, alumni, and students from the Faculty of Construction who were interested in the seminar.
In his opening speech, Dr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang – Vice President, emphasized: “Signing cooperation agreements with businesses not only creates practical learning opportunities for learners but also bridges academic theory with real-world professional experience. This seminar is not only a valuable learning opportunity but also a step towards developing high-quality human resources in the construction industry. The topic of green buildings is highly relevant and brings significant value in today’s society.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Phuoc, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, affirmed that green buildings are an inevitable trend, gaining attention from both local and international organizations. He highlighted that the seminar featured experienced speakers in the field of green building operations, promising valuable real-world insights.
The seminar concluded with many valuable insights from experts and opened up long-term collaboration opportunities between the university and businesses. This event plays a crucial role in training high-quality human resources and contributing to the advancement of the construction industry in both the university and society.
As part of the program, the university also signed cooperation agreements with leading construction companies, including: Quan Dat Manufacturing and Trading Co., Ltd., Eurostone Granite Joint Stock Company, Unic Joint Stock Company, Phu Thuong Construction Joint Stock Company.
