- The department of learning materials was founded on 25/10/2013 according to Decision No 837/QĐ-ĐHM of the rector of HCMC Open university.
- The department of learning materials was changed to Center for Learning Materials on 24/2/2022 according to Decision No 397/QĐ-ĐHM of the rector of HCMC Open university.
- The Center for learning materials is responsible for consulting the rector in releasing, supplying, and developing various learning materials that meet the university’s education and training purposes.
- Building and developing learning materials based on various sources in Viet Nam and around the world.
- Organize and manage the compilation, review and printing learning materials accordingly the University's training plan.
- Searching for external learning resources including foreign language learning materials, probably these learning materials are used for learning and teaching.
- Purchasing learning materials for the entire university.
