A Memorandum of Cooperation (MOU) on "Education for the Public Healthcare Sciences" was signed by Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Viet Nam Viral Hepatitis Alliance (V-VHA) on December 1st, 2017. Based on objectives of the MOU, both parties will together fulfill the following missions:
-Educate for the Public Healthcare Sciences, raise public health care awareness, and contribute to the elimination of BC viral hepatitis, liver fibrosis and liver cancer from hepatitis B virus and other health problems for inhabitants in Ho Chi Minh City and suburban areas.
-Improve the applicability and practicality of training programs; create more added values for students through practice-oriented activities, community services and public engagement;
-Leverage the employability of students after graduating through recommendation of the University and V-VHA to their domestic and global partners such as: NGOs, WHO, US CDC, pharmaceutical companies, and medical organizations.
- Benefit students, lecturers, and the community in accessing researches and science information on health care and protection, contributing to the realization of the two parties' mission.
- Enhance research capacity and scientific publication in internationally specialized journals in areas that the both parties are interest in such as PubMed ID.
-Implement community activities to raise awareness and understanding of these diseases and care, prevention and treatment with direct health counseling for people who participate in community health events and health media communication.
-Provide new innovated approaches to health services for blood sampling and testing by screening for hepatitis B, C virus at community events.
- Establish care-to-links so that patients can access medical services and consultations with specialists and physicians.
- Organize seminars so that Vietnamese experts, doctors, researchers, health activists and the community can exchange with leading experts and leading doctors from the United States and other countries as well.
