Open University students have won the 2017 “Students of 5 Merits” and “January Star”.

HANOI – On the 7^th of January 2018, the Vietnamese Communist Youth Union celebrated their 68^th anniversary of Vietnamese Students’ day and at the same time honored students who had won the 2017 “Students of 5 Merits”, “Academic groups of 5 Merits” and “January Star”.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Dai (faculty of Engineering and Electronics) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Han (faculty of Finance and Banking) were awarded the “Students of 5 Merits” prizes (Ethic, Knowledge, Health, Voluntary and Integration).

The winner of the “January Star” prize is Mr. Nguyen Trung Hau – a member of the University Student Union and at the same time a student from the faculty of Information Technology. He is now one of the students (currently 138 of them in total) who successfully achieve this.

“January Star” is a award given by the Vietnamese Communist Youth Union annually. It has the following important criteria:

• GPA: above 8.0
• Course Average Training Point: 90 – 100 points
• 2 years of experience working as a member of the Student Union; currently working as a secretary of the Youth Union or holding any other relevant positions. 
• Being rewarded at school level for performing well in Youth Union activities and events.
