On the afternoon of March 30, 2019, at Hall No. 602, Vo Van Tan Campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, the Closing Ceremony of the 2019 Summer School & Fieldtrip program of the KNOTS Project was held with the association of units: University of Bonn (Germany); University of Vienna (Austria); Charles University (Australia); Chulalongkorn University and Chiang Mai University (Thailand) and Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS); and Southern Institute of Social Science Research.
The Closing Ceremony honorably welcomed Ass. Prof. Nguyen Van Phuc, PhD - Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Ass. Prof. Nguyen Minh Ha, PhD - Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, with the presence of students and research students who attended the summer course. The program is designed for Vietnamese and international lecturers, postgraduate students and research students from the 8 member universities of the Project - organized by the Erasmus Foundation through the University of Vienna (Austria), with the main theme of “Interdisciplinary research methods in response to challenges for the Mekong Delta”. This activity is within the framework of the training content of the interdisciplinary research project "Promoting the knowledge network of interdisciplinary research methods to respond to global challenges.”
The contents of the curriculum are practiced and concretized when combining in parallel the provision of the cross-disciplinary research knowledge and solving problems in their research; applying theoretical frameworks on migration, political ecology, sociology in practical research, etc. with practical experience in the Mekong Delta localities.
As the main implementing unit, Ho Chi Minh City Open University has successfully completed its role and mission, ensuring that the course took place successfully in terms of implication and creativity in the form, and bringing new experiences and challenges to participating learners and research students.
