Based on the demand of leadership personnel in Ho Chi Minh City Open University, the Civil Affairs Committee of MOET issued the guidance to the University on the procedure for appointment of President in the term of 2019 – 2024 in accordance with the planning source. After fulfilling the necessary conditions as specified, on July 20, 2019, a Ceremony to announce and confer the Decision on Appointment of New President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University was solemnly held in Ho Chi Minh City Open University.
Minister of Education and Training issued the Decision No. 1818/QD-BGDDT appointing Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha to be the President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University in the term of 2019 – 2024.
In the ceremony, it was very honored to welcome:
- Representing the MOET leaders, the participants included: Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc – Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Former Secretary of Party Committee, Former Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University; Prof., Dr. Le Thi Thanh Nhan – Director of Personnel and Organization Department; Mr. Tran Van Thinh – Director, Office Manager of Civil Affairs Committee; Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Thuan – Former Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University; MA. Do Thi Ngoc Lien- Former Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University; MA. Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha was born in 1972 and graduated in University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in 1995, ISS Master (Netherland) in the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and Doctor of Economics in Aberdeen (England). The Associate Professor of Economics was awarded to Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha in 2013. Before working in Ho Chi Minh City Open University in 2003, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha worked in Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning – Investment in the years of 1997 – 2003. In Ho Chi Minh City Open University, he used to hold the leading positions in faculties such as: Finance – Banking, Personnel and Organization Office, Post-graduate Cooperation & Research Management Office, Training Management Office, etc., before being appointed to the position of Vice Rector in November 2017.
