On September 19, 2019, Associate Professor Ph.D. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University had a meeting with Mr. AmeMiya Norio - Chairman of Japanese Association of Ceremonies and Cultural Behaviors about plans to develop the cultural and educational exchange center between Vietnam and Japan.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to sign the Agreement Appendix on the activities of the Vietnam-Japan Cultural and Educational Exchange Center. In particular, the Center will implement lots of meaningful educational activities with the cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City Open University and the Association. For example, the opening of the third course on "Cultural behaviors in Japanese communication and working" for Japanese language students of the school, opening more Japanese classes for IT students and office workers, opening more classes on cultural behaviours for those who wish to work in Japanese companies or employees of Japanese organizations in Vietnam. Also, the Center will aim at activities of international cooperation with universities in Japan.

 The Center's cultural and educational exchange activities will open up many linguistic and cultural learning opportunities for HCMC Open University students as well as for students of other schools and those in need. Through such activities, Ho Chi Minh City Open University can be more widely introduced as a university with the tradition of quality and reputation in training to those who are passionate about studying Japanese Language and Culture.
