The abridged contest is one of the activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh City Open University Establishment (15/6/1990 – 15/6/2020) and the 89th Anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Establishment.
Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of The Ho Chi Minh City Open University organized the abridged contest. The contest’s theme is “ My lovely Book “ to prompt students to read, research, and share their book about Startups, Self Development, Discussion about the Traditional Cultural Values of Viet Nam. The contest was hosted by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Faculty of Sociology-Social Work-South East Asian Studies.
In the jury’s viewpoint, the student’s submission should be written with the purpose of helping readers who easily access to the composition to select a suitable book.
The contest received the attention of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of The Ho Chi Minh City Open University Members with 61 contest entrants and 11282 votes cast.
Based on the score of the Jury and the Student’s votes, 3 contest entrants were selected to award.
Pham Van Toan won the first prize with the contest entrants “ VIETNAMESE CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS “ was abridged from the book “THE COMPLICATION BRING THE TIME VALUES “ – Phan Ke Binh. This submission was highly appreciated by the jury because it satisfied the jury’s requirement.
Furthermore, the second prize was award to Pham Gia Duy from the Faculty of Sociology-Social Work-South East Asian Studies with the submission “ WE PROMISE TO REALIZE “ – the abridgment from the book “ MEN AND MEN – Rei Kimura “
Finally, the third prize was award to Bui Thi Thuy Hang from the Faculty of Business Administration with the submission “ A SMILE – A BEAUTY “ was abridged from the book “ A LITTLE FUNNY. THE WORLD WILL BE DIFFERENT “.
