On May 11th 2020, within the framework of the program "Joining hands to combat the COVID-19 epidemic in schools", the Central Committee of Vietnam Students’ Association in collaboration with Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage Co., Ltd organized the awarding to give hand sanitizer to students at Ho Chi Minh City Open University at 371, Nguyen Kiem, Go Vap District. The program was organized by Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage Co., Ltd. and the Vietnam Students’ Association Central, with the purpose of contributing to reduce the COVID-19 epidemic and to timely empower students.
The program was attended by: Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City Open University - Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Minh Ha - Rector of the school. The representative of Central Vietnam Students’ Association is Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet, Member of Standing Committee, Head of Youth Union Central Youth Union, Standing Vice President of Vietnam Student Association. Representative of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Student Union - Mr. Doan Kim Thanh, Member of Standing Committee of City Union, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Science and Technology Development Center. Ho Chi Minh. Comrade Nguyen Tat Toan, Member of Executive Committee, Deputy Head of Youth Union of Thanh Doan School, Member of HCMC Secretariat Ho Chi Minh. Representative of the companion - Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang An - Senior Business Director, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage Co., Ltd.
Within the program, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage Co., Ltd. awarded 10,000 liters of hand sanitizer to students of 40 universities and colleges across the country with a total value of 303,600,000 VND.
The hand-sanitizer was made by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Science and Technology Development Center. At the same time, the Organizing Committee presented 9,000 liters of hand sanitizer to 5 universities in Ho Chi Minh City, including: Ho Chi Minh City Open University; University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology; Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City; University of Transport, branch in Ho Chi Minh City. In the context of a complicated disease situation, this is a very meaningful program, timely for students to join hands to fight back COVID-19. At Ho Chi Minh City Open University, hand-sanitizer is regularly equipped by the University to facilitate students in disinfecting, in addition, necessary commodties such as instant noodles are also given to students with thousands of scholarships as well, awarded by the University to students who are in difficult caused by Covid-19 epidemic.
