In the morning of December 22, Ho Chi Minh City Open University cooperated with Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City to organize the 65-year anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Vietnam (1955 - 2020) at the conference room 202, 35-37 Ho Hao Hon, Co Giang ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh city.
The program to promote cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Indonesia; Strengthening international cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Indonesian universities, and Indonesian enterprise through the memorandum of cooperation with the Indonesian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. The Indonesian Language Club and Culture Club (BABU CLUB) was also launched in this occasion.
The welcoming performances were performed by the Art Team of the Faculty of Sociology - Social work - Southeast Asian Studies.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1955 up to now, over 65 years, the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Indonesia has been a close, loyal, mutual cooperation and development in many fields. In Ho Chi Minh City, the representative of Indonesia's diplomatic mission, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City, is also active in diplomatic promotion activities, comprehensive cooperation, including education and international cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City Open University.
Assoc. Prof. PhD. Phan Thi Hong Xuan - President of the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City highly appreciated the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association, Ho Chi Minh City Open University in particular, Faculty of Sociology - Social work- Southeast Asian studies of Ho Chi Minh City Open University in general, held a meaningful event on the 65th anniversary of the diplomatic relations establishment between Vietnam and Indonesia, towards the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Southeast Asian Studies at Ho Chi Minh City Open University (1991 - 2021). In addition to knowledge of study discipline, the Faculty also focuses on regional languages, including Indonesian. This is an important key, the luggage for Southeast Asian students to get good jobs in the context that 08 disciplines groups of ASEAN recognized occupational skills equivalent since 2015; strengthen exchange relations in many aspects with Indonesia.
Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Minh Ha - President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University said: “The close and long-term diplomatic relationship between the two countries Vietnam - Indonesia has clearly shown great orientation in working together to promote development between the two sides”
On this great event, Ho Chi Minh City Open University and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City discussed and agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding, marking the cooperation between the two sides, specifically accompanying and supporting the introduction of human resources to serve the needs of human resource development in businesses and the operation of the consulate general. At the same time, the Consulate General will accompany Ho Chi Minh City Open University in training Indonesian culture and language, introducing internships for the University and other diplomatic and friendship activities.
On the same occasion, Ho Chi Minh City Open University launched the Indonesian Club of Culture and Language Club (BABU CLUB). This is an environment for students to have chance to research, exchange and learn Indonesian culture, language, to serve for study and training skills after graduation./.
