From 19^th to 27^th December 2020, Ho Chi Minh City Open University (HCMCOU) held and granted degrees for 1,993 bachelor students, 210 new PhDs and Masters are also granted on 26^th December.

Out of the total of 1,993 graduates, there are 142 graduates was rewarded for obtaining academic achievements during the course. Among them, there are 30 graduates granted the title of Valedictorian, 4 graduates granted the title of “students in the top list of academic achievement in the discipline-term”, 98 graduates achieved the title “excellent academic achievement in the course”, 3 graduates with the title of “students with excellent dissertation defense”.

03 doctoral degrees specialized in business administration, 207 master degrees in majors of Business Administration, Economics, Finance-Banking, Theory and Methodology of English language teaching, Civil and Industrial Construction Engineering Technology, Economic Law, Information Technology, Social Studies, Biotechnology, Social studies were also granted in the graduation ceremony.

Since the first day of domestic postgraduate Training Program in 2003 till now, Ho Chi Minh city Open University has been greatly scaled up and extended in quantity of disciplines and majors. The University was originally allowed for only one master training program, at present, HCMCOU is officially authorized up to 12 Master Training Programs including Business Administration, Theory and Methodology of English language teaching, Finance-Banking, Economics, Construction Engineering, Accounting and Chinese language by the Department of Education and Training.

Thanks to the highly-appreciated results of Master Training Program over many years, the Ministry of Education and Training has allowed HCMCOU to train Doctoral Degree in Business Administration in 2012. Up to now, the Doctoral Training program has developed into 5 majors: Business Administration, Economics, Finance - Banking, Construction Engineering, and Theory and Methodology of Teaching English.

During the Covid-19 pandemic in this school-year, the information system management team has successfully completed technical support for lecturers, staffs and students in online teaching and learning with more than 1,400 classes, over 10,000 students, nearly 600 lecturers to use LMS system.

Along with the system management and operation, the information system management center has also researched and put into operation of the BigBlueButton system, integrating Microsoft Teams with the LMS system, guiding the use of services such as Google Meet, Zoom, WebEx to meet the need of using Video Conference for teaching and learning or online meeting. Thereby, ensuring the training plan of the school during Covid-19 pandemic.

Presenting at the graduation ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen, Minh Ha – the president of HCMCOU sent congratulations to the fresh graduates and reminded them to be confident, self-respect, mentally and physically mature to be able to adapt to the labor market. According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha, not only specialized expertise, but also behavior and self-adaptation initiative to the work is the key to success./.
