The contest of designing posters "Global Warming is a bad warning" in 2021 organized by Ho Chi Minh City Open University

The poster design contest for students with the theme "Global Warming is a bad warning" within the framework of implementing a series of activities to respond to World Environment Day and Environmental Action Month in 2021, organized by OU Green Plus Club – HCMCOU from September 1st, 2021 to October 8th, 2021.

Taking part in the contest, students can create their own media products on the topic of climate change, combating plastic waste to spread meaningful messages about protecting the environment. OU Green Plus Club is honored to welcome the Jury from the University of Fine Arts Ho Chi Minh City - Vice President Do Van Dung; Dr. Tran Thai Ha, Lecturer of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Mr. Tran Van Tri, Secretary of the HCMCOU’s Youth Union. The contest consists of 2 rounds: ACT - Online voting round, NOW - Jury round of grading, and online voting.

The ACT round took place within 2 weeks from September 1st to September 12th, 2021, where the contestants will perform the task of designing posters relating to the message "Global Warming is a bad warning". All entries submitted to the contest organizers will be posted on Fanpage OU Green Plus for online voting.

The NOW round is a contest with 4 unique design themes, taking place from September 17th to September 27th, 2021, candidates will choose a suitable and favorite theme to design the Poster, that is: Act against climate change; Anti-plastic waste; Actions and responsibilities of learners in combating climate change and plastic waste; The dangers of climate change cause the Earth to warm up. In this round, the entries will be graded by the Jury and posted on the OU Green Plus Fanpage for online voting which is similar to the ACT round.

After 2 rounds of competition with 78 students participating, the Organizing Committee had selected the 4 best works. The first prize went to the work "Prepare to Protect - Promise to Act now" by student Huynh Nhut Truong, student Truong Quoc Thao won the second prize with the work "Are we the last generation?", student Nguyen Cao Khuyen won the third prize with "STOP PLASTIC POLLUTION" and student Nguyen Thi Thu Ha won the consolation prize with "GLOBAL WARMING".

With the theme “Global Warming Is A Bad Warning”, the contest highlights the importance of the dire effects of climate change on the Earth and people today, providing everyone with a reminder that, Our youth-student generation needs to fulfill our responsibilities with sincere and practical actions. In addition, the activity has propagated to raise public awareness through warning messages and slogans that need to be carried out smoothly and effectively.

The contest "Students design posters against climate change in 2021" has received a great response from the students of HCMCOU in particular and the student community in general. Not only creating a healthy playground for young people who are passionate about creative arts, but the contest is also a place for the next generation of students to share their views on current environmental issues. The works have made a mark when carrying messages of combating climate change, protecting the environment, and protecting life, spreading strongly on social networks in a positive and effective manner.
