Ho Chi Minh City Open University held a graduation ceremony and granted master's degrees for the 2021 Vietnam - Belgium affiliate program at 2pm on January 9, 2022 at Vo Van Tan campus, HCMCOU. In this year's graduation, the program has 27 newly graduated masters, including: 19 new masters in Business Administration, 8 new masters in Marketing & Communication Management and 1 new master in Business Quality and Performance Management.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Professor Harold De Walque from the Free University of Brussels, Representative of Solvay Vietnam; Professor Dinh Toan Trung, Academic Director, Solvay Vietnam. From the HCMC Open University there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Thi Phuong Thao – Program co-director; Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuan Lan – Head of Postgraduate Faculty; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh - Head of Student Affairs Department, along with a large number of family member presence.

Since its very first establishment with only 1 major (now has developed to 6), the Vietnam-Belgium Affiliate Program has constantly improved and has trained nearly 1,600 masters specifically for the South. Majors that have grown over a 25-year period include Information Systems and Management, State’s Economics Management, Administration, Business Administration, Marketing and Communication Management, and Performance & Quality Management. The program has provided the society with a high-quality human resource working in the country and abroad.

At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, on behalf of the University, sent new masters his warmest congratulations and highly appreciated their efforts in the past process. The degrees they have received today represent endless efforts of the lecturers/professors on teaching and indicate the professional, enthusiastic, dynamic as well as responsible working process of the parties involved. The Vietnam - Belgium joint training program has made a great contribution to providing high-quality human resources for the Vietnamese society, especially for Ho Chi Minh City, neighboring provinces and to developing friendship among nations.

Also at the ceremony, graduates were honored to share their messages of gratitude, appreciation to lecturers who have supported them throughout the training process. The new masters are the high quality human resources for junior and senior management positions (directors, general directors, team leaders, senior specialists, ...) of corporations, businesses, departments such as Nike Company, Rhoto – Methalium Vietnam, Tracimexco, Circle Vietnam, Rex Hotel Saigon, VNPT net, Goldsun Focus Media, Turkish Airlines, United International Phama VietNam, etc.

Within the ceremony, Ho Chi Minh City Open University and the Free University of Brussels – Solvay Brussels School of Economics & Management (ULB-SBSem) have recognized and awarded 3 graduates with outstanding academic achievements.

On behalf of the graduates, new Master Tran Thi Diem My expressed her sincere gratitude to all the leaders of the university, departments, professors, associate professors, doctors, and lecturers for their dedicated and scientific guidance, which creates all favorable conditions for students' learning and research. Students will effectively discover, develop, and apply their strengths to serve the country’s economy, social and educational development.
