Seminar "Human Resource Development in Logistics, Finance, Accounting, Business and Corporate Administration in Ho Chi Minh City"

On the morning of February 21, 2023, at campus 35 - 37 Ho Hao Hon, Ho Chi Minh City Open University held a seminar "Human resource development in Logistics, Finance, Accounting, Business and Corporate Governance in Ho Chi Minh City” to implement the action plan of organizing a series of seminars in Ho Chi Minh City development policy of the Council of Presidents in Economics, Council of Presidents of Universities in Ho Chi Minh City. The seminar attracted many presentations from experts and scientists in the field of economics from institutions such as Foreign Trade University, University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Banking University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, etc. 

 

 

 

Attending the program, there were the attendance of: 

– Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - Chairperson of The State Council for Professorship in Economics. 

– Mr. Thai Truong Vinh – Business Development Director of DP World Viet Nam Co., Ltd./ Saigon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT). 

– Dr. Tran Khanh Lam - Vice President cum Secretary General. VACPA - Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants. 

 

On the side of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, there were: 

– Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University. 

– Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Huu Duc - Lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City Open University.

 

Along with the participation of scientists, experts, leaders of faculties, departments, academic staff of Ho Chi Minh City Open University and universities in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Opening speech at the seminar, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha - President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University shared: “Ho Chi Minh City is the economic locomotive of the country. The city's development orientation is to become a Smart City, a financial center and a service center of the whole country and of Southeast Asia. Therefore, developing manpower in Logistics, Finance, Accounting, Business and Corporate Administration to contribute to the development of the City is an integral demand. At the same time, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha also affirmed the important role of education for the above topic: “Universities in the city play a very important role in providing human resources for the City not only in the present but in the future, and especially for the industries that the city plans to develop in the future”. 

 

 

 

 

The presentations revolve around a scientific perspective on the current state of human resource issues, thereby making recommendations and lessons based on international research and experience. The delegates discussed and shared perspectives on promoting and developing human resources in the economic sector through three main topics, including: The current situation of human resource quality in logistics, finance - banking, accounting-auditing, corporate governance, international business in Ho Chi Minh City; Competency requirements to meet the ability to work in an international environment in logistics, finance - banking, accounting - auditing, corporate governance, international business in Ho Chi Minh City; International experience and lessons for Ho Chi Minh City in improving human resource capacity in logistics, finance - banking, accounting - auditing, corporate governance, international business sectors in Ho Chi Minh City to meet the needs of human resources in an international workforce. 

 

On the basis of presentations, sharing from guest speakers with many years of experience in research, management and human resource development are expected to contribute to the sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City.
