On July 14, 2023, the establishment ceremony of the Center for Education Research and Innovation (CERI) took place at the Tradition Room, located at 97 Vo Van Tan, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. The center is under the supervision of the Office of Cooperation and Scientific Management at Ho Chi Minh City Open University.

Attending the ceremony, there were Prof.Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha, the President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuan Lan, the Director of the Center for Education Research and Innovation (CERI), Mr. Tong Hao Kiet, Head of Organization and Personnel Department, and other faculty members from various departments within the university.

The newly-established Center for Education Research and Innovation holds a crucial role in scientific research; national and international partnerships; and the development of human resources for research, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality of education at Ho Chi Minh City Open University.

During the ceremony, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City Open University has always been a pioneer in online education and the application of technology in teaching. However, there are still limitations in the field of educational research. Thus, the establishment of the Center aims to strengthen research activities and promote the university's development in new research areas. He congratulated and expressed his expectations for the sustainable growth of the Center.

The ceremony announced the appointment of Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuan Lan as the Director of the Center for Education Research and Innovation, Mrs. Doan Kim Khoa as a researcher, and Dr. Tran Le Nghi Tran as a contractual researcher. Additionally, the Center will also collaborate with external researchers outside the university.

In her address, Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuan Lan, the Director of the Center, expressed her gratitude to the university for its trust and decision to establish the research center.
