Ho Chi Minh City Open University has always been known not only as a dynamic academic environment but also as a place that nurtures compassionate hearts, ready to share and contribute to the community. In the academic year 2023-2024, this spirit was clearly demonstrated through a series of meaningful voluntary blood donation days, attracting the participation of a large number of students and bringing proud results.

Voluntary blood donation is an annual activity organized periodically 2-3 times a year by the Voluntary Blood Donation Promotion Team of Ho Chi Minh City Open University in collaboration with hospitals and local units. Not only a place to receive precious drops of blood, this activity is also an opportunity for students to be examined, consulted on health and receive meaningful gifts from the organizers. In particular, each participant is issued a blood donation certificate, recognizing their noble actions and sense of responsibility to the community.

On August 3rd and 5th, 2024, a large number of Ho Chi Minh City Open University students participated in the "Mây Hồng" Blood Donation Day at the 35-37 Ho Hao Hon, District 1 and 97 Van Tan, District 3 campuses of the University with more than 200 units of blood donated. Along with that, the campaigns "Toả" (December 2nd, 2023) and "Sắc hồng trời hạ" (April 13th, 2024) also took place with resounding success, collecting 155 and 158 units of blood, respectively.These impressive numbers not only demonstrate the humanity of Ho Chi Minh City Open University students but also contribute significantly to saving the lives of many patients.

Not stopping at major events, the Voluntary Blood Donation Promotion Team also actively coordinates with Wards and Districts to organize blood donation drives throughout semester three of the 2023-2024 academic year. Thanks to the enthusiasm and pioneering spirit of the members, the team mobilized more than 200 students to participate, contributing significantly to ensuring the blood supply for hospitals and medical centers.

With nearly 700 units of blood donated in the 2023-2024 academic year, Ho Chi Minh City Open University students have demonstrated the power of youth, love, and solidarity. Each drop of blood given is not only a priceless gift to the patient but also evidence of the maturity and deep awareness of social responsibility of each individual.

Blood donation days are not merely a social activity but also a meaningful journey where each participant has the opportunity to experience, share and spread love. It is a place where precious drops of blood are given, smiles bloom, and hearts connect.
