Clubs, Teams, and Groups - Places for Self-Development

One of the spaces providing practical lessons for students at Ho Chi Minh City Open University is the various clubs, teams, and groups. Here, students not only gain specialized knowledge related to their field of interest but also experience and develop other important skills:

  • Vietnamese Skills: A place where international students can practice their Vietnamese skills and engage in cultural exchange with Vietnamese students.
  • Organizational and Teamwork Skills: By participating in these groups, students work with teammates who have different perspectives, personalities, and working styles. This requires students to adapt, listen, and synthesize opinions to achieve the best results.
  • Planning and Time Management Skills: To participate effectively in extracurricular activities, students must balance their study time, work, and group activities. This fosters the ability to plan scientifically and allocate time effectively to complete tasks.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: During activities, especially those organized by clubs, teams, or groups, students often encounter unexpected situations. This is an opportunity to hone quick thinking and find suitable, effective solutions.

Participation in clubs, teams, and groups reflects a student’s dynamism and is often seen as a highlight in future job applications. It shows that students have developed certain skills during their studies. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zones, overcome shyness, develop communication skills, and showcase their unique personalities.

Over 70 Clubs, Teams, and Groups with Diverse Extracurricular Activities

The clubs, teams, and groups organized and managed by HCMCOU and its faculties are designed according to specific orientations, aligned with students' fields of study and interests. However, all aim to achieve a common goal: to create a valuable playground where students can fully pursue their passions, develop themselves, and contribute their abilities to the University and community.

Every year, Ho Chi Minh City Open University organizes "The Open Club Day" as a platform for students to connect with various clubs, teams, and groups.
