To disseminate information, regulations, and essential experiences for the process of studying abroad under state-funded scholarship programs in 2024, on the morning of August 23, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, in collaboration with the Department of International Cooperation, organized a workshop entitled: "Training for Overseas Study Candidates 2024". Attending and sharing information at the workshop were representatives from the Department of International Cooperation, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Department of Internal Political Security, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Attending the event, there were the presence of: From the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training: Dr. Nguyen Hai Thanh - Deputy Director; Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lien - Head of International Education Department; Ms. Do Thi Van Phuong - Specialist of International Education Department; Mr. Phan Thanh Binh - Deputy Director of the Center for International Education Development; From the Department of Internal Political Security, Ministry of Public Security: Mr. Dinh Quang Tuan - Officer of Department 6; From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Mr. Vu Duc Minh - Senior Specialist of the Party Committee Organization Board, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; From Ho Chi Minh City Open University: Dr. Le Xuan Truong - Vice President. Along with representatives from relevant departments and candidates who were awarded scholarships to study abroad under the agreement.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Nguyen Hai Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, said: "The training workshop for successful candidates to study abroad is an annual activity of the Ministry of Education and Training, aimed at guiding and providing necessary information for candidates during their studies abroad. This is an opportunity for candidates to meet with management agencies to exchange and answer questions related to their rights, obligations, and responsibilities when selected to study abroad with state funding."

Over the past time, scholarship programs have become an important source of financial support, opening up many opportunities for Vietnamese students to study in developed countries worldwide such as Russia, China, Hungary, the United Kingdom, etc.

At the workshop, candidates were guided on the visa application process, completing study abroad documents, enrollment procedures at international schools, as well as how to receive living allowances during their studies. The training session also addressed issues related to party work abroad and political security, equipping students with the necessary knowledge to comply with and fulfill their obligations and responsibilities while studying and living abroad. The workshop has brought much practical value, helping candidates better prepare for their upcoming study journey.
