On September 6th, 2024, at Hall 602, 97 Vo Van Tan Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City Open University collaborated with the East Asia Global Education Institute under the Department of Education of Incheon City, Korea, organized a Vietnam-Korea cultural exchange program themed "Connecting traditions, reaching for the future: Learning and developing through Vietnamese-Korean culture."
The program aimed to create a playground for Korean language students at the University to apply their learned knowledge to practice, as well as to explore Korean culture more deeply through exchange activities and traditional games with Korean students, thereby improving communication skills, enhancing understanding and love for Vietnamese and Korean languages and cultures.
Overview of the program
In attendance were: Representing Ho Chi Minh City Open University: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha - President, Dr. Nguyen Thuy Nga - Dean of Faculty of Foreign Languages along with esteemed lecturers, staff, and officials from various units of the University; Representing the East Asia Global Education Institute under the Department of Education of Incheon City: Mr. Kil Ho Jin - Director, Mr. Park Jung Won - Education Expert of the Department, along with esteemed lecturers and students from Korean high schools.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha - President of the University, expressed his delight in welcoming esteemed lecturers and staff from the East Asia Global Education Institute under the Department of Education of Incheon City, Korea. He said that the University always considers international exchange as one of its core activities, and the Vietnam-Korea cultural exchange program not only reflects the cultural exchange between the two countries but also affirms the importance of continuous learning and development. Hopefully, through such programs, students of the two countries will have opportunities to interact and learn from each other, contributing to enhancing understanding and friendship.

At the program, teachers and students of the two countries had memorable experiences through art performances, cultural introductions, and interactive games. Through this, students had the opportunity to understand each other better, shorten the distance, and build close relationships between Vietnamese and Korean students.

Besides, activities such as decorating conical hats and answering riddles in Korean not only provided entertainment but also helped students practice language and cultural skills. The program attracted the participation of nearly 30 students from Korea, 50 students from the University, and received many positive feedbacks. The exchange program between students of the two countries has contributed to enriching the cultural life of the University and building a bridge of friendship between Vietnam and Korea.
