On the afternoon of October 3, 2024, in the Tradition Room, located at 97 Vo Van Tan, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, held a signing ceremony for a collaboration agreement with the Vietnam Public Joint Stock Commercial Bank (PVcombank), Cong Hoa Branch. This partnership aims to expand opportunities for our learners studying in Finance and Banking majors to gain practical knowledge and access job opportunities even while still studying.
Attending the event, from Ho Chi Minh City Open University, was Dr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang – Vice President. Representing PVcombank were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong – Regional Director of the Regions 4 and 5 (South Central and Central Highlands provinces) and Mr. Le Dang Phi – Director of PVcombank’s Cong Hoa Branch, along with staff from both organizations. Notably, this program also welcomed the alumni of the University who are currently working with the partner organization.
Overview of the event
Dr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang, Vice President of the University, emphasized, “Our training objectives are application-oriented. Therefore, beyond providing a solid theoretical foundation, the university aims to create opportunities for learners to gain practical experience and stay updated on the latest industry trends. Additionally, both sides should hold annual meetings to review and improve the direction of our partnership, thereby contributing to a stronger, higher-quality workforce for the country.”

Discussing about the growing demand for human resources in the banking sector today, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Regional Director of the Regions 4 and 5, shared, “PVcombank has been actively enhancing partnerships with universities to support learners in staying current with industry-relevant knowledge, along with offering internships and a variety of job positions suitable for graduates. Particularly, the bank encourages continuous learning by providing opportunities for learners who wish to pursue graduate programs while working, and we offer financial support for projects that improve the university's teaching and learning facilities.”
