On December 3 and 5, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Open University was honored to welcome delegations from Gwangju University and Baekseok University for visits and cooperation signings at its campus located at Ho Hao Hon Campus, District 1. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in opening up collaborative opportunities between the universities, to provide more development opportunities for students majoring in Korean Language as well as students from both institutions in general.

Expressing his honor in welcoming the delegations to the university, Dr. Senor Lecturer Le Xuan Truong – Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University stated that international integration is one of the key trends in modern education development. The university has signed cooperation agreements with over 650 reputable domestic and international organizations and universities, enabling students to apply their knowledge in practice and enhance their understanding of various aspects such as culture and society, etc. through student exchange programs, internships at foreign enterprises, and universities. These programs equip students with the necessary skills to adapt quickly to international working environments.
The Faculty of Foreign Languages at Ho Chi Minh City Open University, established in 1990, has trained and developed many successful generations of students. Notably, students majoring in Korean Language have participated and achieved outstanding results in competitions both within and outside the university.

Recognizing the similarities in strengths in the fields of Language, Tourism, and Information Technology between the two universities, Mr. Victor Kim – Director of the International Cooperation Institute at Baekseok University stated that the university will open new majors and learning centers specifically for international students, including fields related to Tourism, Aviation Services, and more. He expressed hope that in the future, more international students, especially Vietnamese students, will come to Baekseok University.

The cooperation signing activities lay the foundation for opening up learning and career development opportunities for students, not only in the Korean Language major but also for all students at Ho Chi Minh City Open University in an international environment. It is hoped that through this meeting, the parties have discussed and proposed various activities and programs to create more opportunities for students to gain practical experience, fostering long-term collaboration and stronger development.
It is known that Gwangju University, established in 1980, is the first educational institution to implement the "Enterprise Internship Support Program" and the "Startup Support Program," providing practical job opportunities for both graduates and current students.
Baekseok University, established in 1983, is recognized by the Korean Ministry of Education as one of the leading universities with the fastest internationalization rate. The university is renowned for its practical teaching style, closely aligned with the requirements of employers.
