On December 10, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Open University (HCMCOU) signed a cooperation agreement with Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) at UUM's campus in Malaysia. The signing ceremony was attended by: From Ho Chi Minh City Open University: Dr. Ho Huu Thuy – Head of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing. From Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA UUM): Prof. Dr. Ram Al Jaffri Bin Saad – Dean; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arifatul Husna Mohd Ariff – Deputy Dean; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raja Haslinda Raja Mohd Ali – Deputy Dean for Research and Development; Dr. Dzarfan Abdul Kadir – Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs; Along with faculty members from various departments.

Following the signing ceremony, representatives from both universities discussed future collaborative activities, particularly in the context of Vietnam's initial implementation of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This presents a significant opportunity for deeper cooperation between the two institutions through activities such as sharing and exchanging experiences on the current state of accounting and auditing in Malaysia and Vietnam, promoting joint research, organizing international conferences, and facilitating short-term student exchanges.  

The two units discussed and exchanged specific collaborative activities for the future. 

Continuing the program, the delegation from Ho Chi Minh City Open University visited key areas within the UUM campus, including the library, exhibition hall, hotel, utility areas, bookstore and souvenir shop, student facilities, golf course, and more.

Through this agreement, the partnership between Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) will open up numerous development opportunities for students and faculty. This collaboration will not only enhance the quality of training and research activities in the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing but also contribute to the university's regional and international development.
