Major: International Business

1. Objectives

The curriculum is designed for bachelor degree in Business Administration with special field of International Business. After completing this curriculum, students will have knowledge and skills to work as a position of staff or managers in the international business environment such as multi-national companies, foreign trade companies, import-export trading companies, international organizations, foreign representative offices, industrial parks, processing zones, and hi-tech zones in Vietnam.

  • organizing and implementing import- export and logistic activities
  • planning and implementing the business/marketing strategies to international market
  • setting up a business plan, monitoring and managing projects of foreign investment in domestic market and investment projects of Vietnam companies in oversea market.
  • Solving issues of management in multinational corporations.
  • Skills: Students undertakes this curriculum will have following skills to finish their duties:
  • Self-study and analysis skills and applying theories and knowledge trained to solve the problems faced during to work.
  • Team working and independent working skills to finish their duties.
  • Data collection and analysis skills to get information needed for decision making.
  • Listening, presenting, discussing and negotiating skills.
  • Skills of planning, controlling and managing time to catch the job deadlines.

After completing this curriculum, students will have knowledge and skills to work as a position of staff or managers in the domestic or multinational companies to do market research, create plan of advertising & sales promotion and develop customer relations. Besides, students can become sales persons, staff for Public Relations, events planning in service companies or manufacturing companies.

  • Knowledge: Students who complete this curriculum will have the knowledge of Principles of Management and marketing, macro and micro economics, qualitative and quantitative methods for marketing. Particularly, this curriculum provides students knowledge of:  
    • studying customer behaviour,
    • building and maintaining the relationship with customers
    • doing market research
    • planning and implementing advertising and sales promotion programs
    • setting up marketing plan and strategy in an enterprise

1. Objectives

The curriculum is designed for bachelor degree in Finance and Banking. After completing this curriculum, students will have knowledge and skills to work as a position of staff or managers at financial department of corporations, including local and multinational, and financial institutions including mutual funds, investment funds, insurance companies, finance companies, stock companies and commercial banks.

  • Knowledge: Students who complete this curriculum will have the knowledge of Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and operations of financial industry.  Particularly, this curriculum provides students knowledge of:  
  • Operations of Financial Markets including capital markets, money markets, foreign exchange markets and derivative markets.
  • Operations of financial institutions including commercial banks and other non-bank institutions such as financial companies, leasing companies, stock companies and investment funds.
  • More detailed knowledge of corporate finance such as financial statements analysis and planning, investment decisions including financial assets investment, fixed assets investment and currents assets investment, financing decisions including financial leverage and capital structure, and dividend policy decisions. Also, knowledge of financial risk management is covered in this curriculum.

  • Operations of financial institutions including commercial banks and other non-bank institutions such as financial companies, leasing companies, stock companies and investment funds.
  • More detailed knowledge of corporate finance such as financial statements analysis and planning, investment decisions including financial assets investment, fixed assets investment and currents assets investment, financing decisions including financial leverage and capital structure, and dividend policy decisions. Also, knowledge of financial risk management is covered in this curriculum.

Accounting

The Faculty offers bachelor’s degrees in Economic Laws and Law. Economic Laws Program officially started in 2009 and Law Program started in 2015. Previously, Open University of Ho Chi Minh City began to offer graduate degree in Law in 1993.

To earn a bachelor’s degree in Economic Laws, students have to complete of 126 credits, from required courses in business and commercial laws and elective courses in Corporate Finance, Financial Accounting and International Payments. To deepen training and knowledge, students can select Import and Export Law, Investment Law, Law on Insurance Business, and more.

Bachelor’s Degree Program in Law comprises of 125 credits, with required courses in Civil Law and Administrative Law. Elective courses offered are Administrative Procedure Law, Law on Inspection, Complaint and Denouncement, Civil Executive law, Common Contracts, Roman Law, Law on City Management, etc.

The training objectives of the Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Law and Law of Economics are to train qualified jurists with in-depth knowledge of all the legal work and with specialty in commercial laws. Besides, the Faculty focuses on training students with technical skills and soft skills, forming the right attitude toward the profession, the community as well as society. These skills and principles are integrated into teaching and classroom interactions, extracurricular activities, academic competitions, student club events, the participated sessions in court, law firm, etc.

Students will be learning from and working with faculty members, highly qualified enthusiastic lawyers and judges. The highlights of the two programs are to incorporate theoretical and applied trainings in their curricula.

Students of Junior Year are sent to enterprises, government agencies, courts to serve as interns for one month at each selected agency. The goal is for students to receive work-related, communication, and problem solving skills while still in training. These practical opportunities will help student form and early awareness of the legal profession they have chosen and reflect on their real and potential abilities; help students identify the knowledge and skills they have or have yet acquired so that they can improve and strengthen themselves before entering the workforce.

In addition, the Faculty of Law also organizes regular seminars and mentoring with the participation of well-established legal experts.
