The Faculty of Accounting and Auditing was established in 2010, which is separated from the Faculty of Accounting, Finance and Banking (having been operating since 1990’s) of the HOCHIMINH City Open University (HCMCOU). While the Accounting and Auditing faculty has independently run in five years, its experience of educating and training of accountancy field has accumulated more than twenty years and earned many awards offered by the Ministry of Education and Training, other authoritative governments and social organisations. Currently, the faculty is one of the largest faculties of the university in terms of number of students having registered to study at the faculty.
The attraction of the faculty of accounting and auditing to students, who wish to enrol the faculty, is mainly derived from the syllabuses. Those are designed in base of demands of the learners, and aim to satisfy the empirical requirements of employers. Graduated students of the faculty are able to work various positions such as accountants, treasurers, bank clerks and investment consultants, and in many different industries such as construction, service providers, public sectors, and manufactures and commercial companies.
Ninety-five percent of those who have graduated at the Accounting and Auditing Faculty have found suitable jobs to their study within the first year since graduating, according the statistical figures surveyed by the Office of Academic Affair of HCMCOU. Based on those factors, the faculty strongly believe that HCMCOU is the right university for prospect students who want to learn accountancy in order to prepare their careers in future.
As a result, those help students develop skills of flexibility, problem-solving ability, commercial awareness and communication, which are highly valued by employers. After graduating, the students have broad career options to work at plenty types of business industries such as banks, public-service sectors, and business enterprises.
