Since its establishment, Ho Chi Minh City Open University has always paid attention to the connections between businesses – students for creating advantages to the students for getting advisory and guidance on realizing the future plans. Especially, “Start-up” has now been creating the most motivation for students in the University.

On July 10, 2019, the “Exchange program between businesses and students” was held in Ho Chi Minh City Open University in the topic of “Innovative start-up and social responsibility”. The program was held for creating startup inspiration and motivation to students for attending the Luong Van Can Talent Award 2019. This is a playground for young people who aspire to start a business founded and held by Saigon Entrepreneur Newspaper with this year's competition theme of “Agricultural value chain and agro-food processing industries” held from May 09 to November 22, 2019.

Invitees attending the program comprised of, for representation of Saigon Entrepreneur Newspaper, Mr. Tran Hoang – Deputy Editor, Head of Organization Board, Mr. Ngo Xuan Loc – Editorial Assistant, Standing member of Organization Board, for representation of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan – Vice Rector, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh – Manager of Student Affairs Office. In addition, there were some other participants such as speakers and entrepreneurs: Dr. Phan Cong Chinh (BOD Chairman of Global Enterprise Solutions Company Limited), MA. Duong Nguyen (CEO and Master Trainer of Brian Tracy Training Vietnam), Mr. Danny Vo Thanh Dang (Member of IAPO International Association, Vice President of Business Association of Overseas Vietnamese).

 “The more progressive civilization, the more prosperous trade is. The prosperous or decadent trade is such close to the prosperity or decadence of a nation, how can we despise or disregard it”, “Business needs to create trade items and requires good foreign languages”, “Secret of entrepreneurial success is honesty”, etc. These business ideas of the great entrepreneur, Mr. Luong Van Can which lasted for over one past century have remained their practical values and been accordant with the Vietnamese ethics and the current entrepreneurial mindset. The entrepreneur Luong Van Can was honored as the “Teacher of Vietnamese entrepreneurs”. For promoting such progressive thoughts of the old BA Can and contributing to the training of potential entrepreneurs who get the true business, enriching themselves and contributing to building a strong national economy, the Luong Van Can Talent Award was born in 2011 and has been annually held so far.

Attending the program, the students got opportunities to make direct discussion with entrepreneurs and achieve more good knowledge and valuable experiences in business, thereby, strengthened the essential luggage of their own startup journey.
