Responding to the movement to build the Nguyen Duc Canh Scholarship Fund of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, which has been launched from the academic year of 1999 – 2000 up to now, and has simultaneously received the support and assistance of the Party Committee and the managing board of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, in the morning of 25 July 2019, at the hall of the campus of No. 35 - 37 Ho Hao Hon, Co Giang Ward, District 1, the Trade Union held the 20^th Nguyen Duc Canh Scholarship Award ceremony for children of officials. This is an activity to encourage and motivate the children to try their best to study and achieve high achievements.

Attending the ceremony, there were the presence of comrades: Comrade Huynh Van Sau - Head of Civil Affairs Committee of Education and Training - Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, Comrade Nguyen Mai Huy - Deputy Head of Department of Propaganda and Training - Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor. Representative of the school is Comrade Ho Minh Nhien - Vice President of School Trade Union, Mr. Le Thi Vu Anh - Head of School Female Trade Union with teachers who are leaders of units and members of School Trade Union Executive Committee, the union leader of the units, the teachers are the parents and 96 children representing 304 children attended the ceremony.

By implementing the program organization, the Trade Union of the school in particular and the Open University of Ho Chi Minh City in general have shown the spirit and responsibility in implementing the movements and directives proposed by all levels, thereby successfully completing the assigned tasks. Besides, there is dedication, care and attention to timely support the lives of officials and employees, motivating officials to feel secure in their work.
