Aiming at promoting international integration, improving scientific research capacity as well as creating opportunities for exchanging, learning and sharing intellectuals and research experience for scholars, Ho Chi Minh City Open University in collaboration with Kasetsart University and National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) - Thailand co-organize the International Conference 2019: Research and Application in Biotechnology. The Conference will be held at 8:00 AM on 26 July 2019 at 2^nd floor Hall, Campus of 35 - 37 Ho Hao Hon.

With the success of “The International workshop on Challenges and Directions for Agricultural Biotechnology” in 2018, domestic and foreign scholars, including those from University of Malaya (Malaysia), National University of Sciences (Singapore), University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh, Nong Lam University – Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Institute of Tropical Biology, Genetics Institute, etc. have been interested in this Conference. The research topics of the Conference consist of:

• From genes to genome: orientation for researches on animal resources, and management for wildlife and existing animals.
• Phyto-desalination: Na+ desalination potential of salt tolerant varieties
• Perspective on food allergen labeling
• PR-1 gene isolation and analysis involved in the relationship between Meloidogyne incognita and banana nematodes
• Gene expression related to ion homeostasis, enriched Na+ and Salt Tolerance for Backcross introgression (FL530 x KDML105) with SKC1 and qSt1b QTLs to develop saline suppression conditions
• Detection of genes providing salinity-tolerance in rice
• Development of touch & non-touch expression vector systems based on Pgrac promotor for Bacillus subtilis.
