On December 11^th, 2019 at Ho Chi Minh City Open University, campus 35 - 37 Ho Hao Hon, Co Giang Ward, District 1, there was a meeting to welcome the Cuba Consulate General to visit and work at the university.

Attending the meeting was the presence of Ms. Indira López Argüelles - Consulate General of the Republic of Cuba; Associate Professor. Ph.D. Nguyen Minh Ha – the President; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh - Head of Office of Student Affairs, with representatives of some other faculties of the university.

At the meeting, Associate Professor. Ph.D. Nguyen Minh Ha – the President introduced the achievements and innovaion of the university over the recent 30 years based on its vision, core value with the mission of contributing and improving knowledge for the community in the most flexible and convenient way.

In response to the President’s speech, Ms. Indira López Argüelles gave an overview of Cuba’s educational development and policy which are are being implemented. She also appreciated the teaching activities of Ho Chi Minh City Open University and looked forward to cooperating with the university in teaching, scientific research, organizing conferences, studying abroad, etc.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Cuba Consulate General exchanged views on cooperation plans, namely: opportunities to study abroad in Cuba for Vietnamese students in general and students of Ho Chi Minh City Open University in particular (benefits, responsibilities, jobs, expenses, conditions, facilities…), as well as learning opportunities for Cuba students in Vietnam; opportunities to cooperate between Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Cuba universities…

The meeting took place in a solemn and friendly atmosphere, Associate Professor. Ph.D. Nguyen Minh Ha – the President gave his sincere thanks to Ms. Indira López Argüelles for spending her time to visit the university, which opens strong bonds and develops good cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City Open University and the Cuban Consulate General.
