On December 15^th, 2019, at 97 Vo Van Tan campus, Ho Chi Minh City Open University held a Workshop on entrepreneurship in order to implement the mission of "Communication for start-up ecosystems" under the project "Supporting the national innovation start-up ecosystem to 2025" (Project 844), along with the objective of creating favorable conditions benefit enterprises to access to policies, legal information and enhancing awareness in compliance when calling for investment capital and emphasize the importance of intellectual property in the context of digital age.

The conference was honored to welcome Associate Professor Nguyen Minh Ha - Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University and speakers of the workshop: Dr. Nguyen Thanh My - Chairman of My Lan Group, Founder of Rynan Holdings, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong - CEO & Founderof Color Pencils, CO - Founder of Entrepreneurs Hub; Mr. Tran Giang Khue - Southern Representative, Intellectual Property Department; Dr. Pham Thi Thuy Phuong from Institute of Technology who successfully registered 8 patents with utility solutions from scientific research; Mr. Tran Vu Nguyen - Vice Chairman of Saigon Innivation Hub, President of AI Education Group; M.S. Nguyen Van Minh - Director of Center for Biotechnology Research and Application, Department of Biotechnology - Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Entrepreneurship Instructor (VCCI, ILO), COACH Expert (ICF, CCA ) and the large number of participation of located university students.

The program discussed the following topics:

Morning session: Creative start-up in a digital age

• Innovative start-up in the era of intellectual economy and industrial revolution - Promote start-up innovation;

• Linking the support network for innovative startups in Ho Chi Minh City - taking advantage of development.

Afternoon Session: Startup - Difficulties in raising capital, intellectual property and legal issues.

• The importance of intellectual property in a digital age context;

• Inadequacies of raising capital, receiving capital and solutions to improve the capacity to raise capital in creative startups

At the program, Dr. Nguyen Thanh My and Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Minh Ha has jointly signed a cooperation agreement to help students have practical experiences, create job opportunities and increase integration right after graduating.
