On September 1st, 2020, Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Union of Tan Phuoc District, Tien Giang Province held a ceremony to hand-over charitable houses for poor households at Tan Hoa Dong commune.
Attending the ceremony, representatives of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, PhD. LE Nguyen Quoc Khang - Party Commissioner, Vice-Rector; Mr. Tran Van Tri- Party commissioner, Secretary of Communist Youth Union; Mr. Thai Trong Nghia - Chairman of Student’s Association and representatives of Green Summer Volunteers at Tan Ho Dong and Hung Thanh commune, Tan Phuoc District.
The house with 48m2 area costs of 70 million VND, was handed over to household Mrs. Nguyen Thi Dieu who lived in poverty, had difficulty in housing, residing at Tan Thuan hamlet, Tan Hoa Dong commune. Ho Chi Minh City Open University’s Youth Union and Party Union supported 40 million VND.
On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City Open University awarded a scholarship of 5 million VND for her two children. Many gifts for living were also sent to the household by representatives of Tien Giang province’s Union, Tan Phuoc District’s Union, Tan Hoa Dong Commune People’s Committee and her neighbors.
Charitable house project is main-focused in the series of the Green Summer Volunteer of Ho Chi Minh City Open University at Tien Giang province. The work of upgrading and spreading green stone to 2 rural roads were finished at Tan Hoa Dong and Hung Thanh commune, Tan Phuoc District, Tien Giang province with the total of 20 million VND. The works have been completed and handed over to the related units.
Green summer volunteers together carry out lots of meaningful works and projects for the rural areas, bringing economic benefits, which contributes to make their appearance newer, more beautiful and spreads the good meaning in society./.
