On March 27^th morning, HCMCOU held a graduation ceremony and granted 106 master degrees of Affiliate program with Edith Cowan University (Australia). The program in Master of Education, majoring in Theory and Methodology of English Language Teaching, between HCMCOU and Edith Cowan University, is fully lectured in Vietnam and granted Master’s degree by Edith Cowan University.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen, Minh Ha – The President of HCMCOU, Dr. Nguyen, Thi Xuan Lan - Deputy Dean of Graduate School, Dr. Le, Thi Thanh Thu – Academic Director of Master of Education Affiliate program, majoring in Theory and Methodology of English Language Teaching with Edith Cowan University (Australia), Dr. Ho, Huu Thuy - Dean of Accounting- Auditing Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen, Trong Phuoc - Dean of Construction Engineering Faculty, along with leaders of the departments/ divisions attending in the event. Especially, It’s honor in the attendance of students ‘parents and relatives in the ceremony.

At the commencement, on behalf of the University, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President congratulated 106 new Masters Graduates on their graduation, he also stated that: “Through 4 years of training, there were 250 learners joined this program, 106 learners among them graduated on March, 2021. The program has been highly appreciated by the trainees for the quality of lecturers, the usefulness of knowledge associated with the context of English language teaching in Vietnam and around the world. It can be seen that the joint training program between Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Edith Cowan University (Australia) has greatly contributed to the provision of human resources to teach English to Vietnamese society, especially for Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces”.

There are 2 training stages in the Master of Education Affiliate program between HCMCOU and Edith Cowan University, majoring in Theory and Methodology of English Language Teaching. The first stage is taught by lecturers in HCMCOU and the second stage is trained by lecturers from Edith Cowan University, with the primary purpose is to train English teachers to be able to respond promptly to all the teaching requirements as well as to meet the demand on human resources for teaching English in Universities, Secondary’s and accredited English Centers.
