Ho Chi Minh City Open University (HCMCOU) honors to receive the Education Quality Accreditation Certificate from the FIBBA organization for four Master’s degree programs in Economics, Banking- Finance, Business Administration, and Theory and Methodology of English Language Teaching.
Established in 1990 and became a public university in 2006, Ho Chi Minh City Open University is the first university in Vietnam operating under the state regulations and applying ‘open’ training approach. This significantly contributes to the implementation of the policy of education socialization to meet the increasing demand of high quality human resources in modern society. And the establishment of Ho Chi Minh City Open University was the result of persistent innovation itself towards cognitive change in education development to form a type of school satisfying educational needs in “open” conditions. As a result, the school is able to bring the knowledge in the fields of science, technology, and humanities to a wide range of learners who are from urban, mountainous, remote and island areas. Since then, Ho Chi Minh City Open University has always affirmed its position in the Vietnamese higher education system as a multidisciplinary university with multi-level training.
Over 30 years of establishment and development, HCMCOU has really grown as evidenced by many outstanding achievements in training, scientific research, community service and other remarkable achievements as ranked 13th in Vietnam and 349th in Asia on the SCImago rankings. 04 Master's Degree Programs in Economics, Banking- Finance, Business Administration, Theory and Methodology of English Language Teaching were awarded the certificate of Education Quality Accreditation by FIBAA.
To achieve tremendous success today, HCMCOU has built internal solidarity efficiently. The University has promoted the achievements, in which the development of programs of international standards has been promoted; constantly improve the quality of training, human resources in teaching and student service; strengthening scientific research, creating mechanisms to retain and attract talents; closely associated with research-application-transfer with localities, enterprises, etc.
The achievement of being accredited by the FIBAA with the exceed standards is a great encouragement for the Administration Board, Leaders as well as lecturers and students of the University. HCMCOU continues to fulfill its commitment to training quality that constantly meets international integration standards. This event objectively evaluates the training quality of HCMCOU as well as affirms the University’s commitment in providing learners high quality training programs and excellent human resources to the society. HCMCOU is constantly promoting FIBAA accreditation of current training programs and other prestigious domestic and international accreditation organizations.
FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) is a prestigious accreditation organization widely recognized in the world for its rigor and high requirements on the quality of lecturers, training programs, practical applicability, quality of service, facilities as well as learners... Therefore, FIBAA-accredited training programs will bring learners the opportunity to transfer credits with Universities around the world as well as in order to search for job opportunities in Europe and worldwide.
Previously, on March 16th, 17th and 18th, 2021, the education quality external assessment delegation from FIBAA organization through online form assessed 04 training programs of the Graduate School, specifically (1) Economics, (2) Banking and Finance, (3) Business Administration and (4) Theory and Methodology of English Language Teaching. The delegation do interview with leaders of faculties and Academic Director of disciplines. Also, the delegation arranges an interview with the instructors to know how to follow up and organize teaching for students as well as teaching methods. In addition, the delegation also approached to interview current students and alumni to find out learners' satisfaction. Finally, there was an exchange session with leaders and experts in charge of departments and officers in charge of student supports. At the end of the meeting, on 18th March, 2021 evening, the Delegation had positive comments on the preparation work of the University in providing documents and specific data according to the Delegation’s requirements./.
