On the morning of October 16 - Ho Chi Minh City Open University hosted the National Scientific workshop on "Regulations, conditions and solutions for E-Learning development in higher education in Vietnam". The workshop took place via Zoom, in attendance was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha - President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University and other Heads & Deputy Heads of relevant Departments. Additionally, the workshop also attracted various education experts and representatives from Universities across the country to discuss about International experiences as well as the empirical reality of developing technology-based training methods (E-Learning) in Vietnam.
The workshop’s objective was to share the outcome of the project " Research on effective learning methods, e-learning within higher education and Massive Open Online Courses – MOOCS (Massive Open Online Courses), International Experience and Application in Vietnam " in the National Science and Technology Research Programs for the period 2016-2020, under the host of HCMC Open University assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training. Also, this is an opportunity for scientists, departments and individuals to exchange, contribute and make proposals for policies, regulations and solutions for developing E-learning methods in higher education in Vietnam.
Based on the objective, throughout the discussion session, reporters have shared the outcomes of the research project and their experience in e-learning application. Some of the projects presented in the discussion session were: The impact of fear related to Covid-19 effect on learning via e-learning platform – research in the context of the spread of Sars-CoV-2 by Lecturer - Dr.Vu Quoc Thong; Applying E-learning model in teaching Phonetics - Phonology by Lecturer- Dr. Vo Thi Khanh Linh; Concretizing constructivism learning theory and its impact on the quality of e-learning by Lecturer – Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh, etc.
Within the framework of the workshop, lecturers and researchers had opportunities to hear and exchange research outcomes with an open mind and willingness to learn, which greatly contributed to the webinar’s success.
