On the morning of November 25, 2021, Ho Chi Minh City Open University (HCMCOU) held the 5th International e-conference on Business, Economics and Resources (VBER) which attracted more than 100 research articles’ registrations related to economic-financial issues revolving around the Covid-19. In which, 48 excellent articles were selected for presentation at the Conference.

VBER2021 International e-conference was honored to welcome national, international scientists, keynote speakers from the United States, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Canada, representatives from HCMCOU and PhDs currently studying abroad in the countries such as Australia, Canada, UK, New Zealand also submitted documents to present at the conference.

In addition to the presentation of 48 excellent articles, this year's International Conference specially organized a discussion session for young researchers and learners with scientific research orientation in economic – finance sector, another highlights at the conference was a special discussion session for economic and financial studies in Vietnam and Worldwide, which aimed to create conditions for experts as well as researchers to participate in in-depth sharing of applied econometric knowledge and discuss about the Covid-19 epidemic.

Important topics published by the researchers in this year's articles revolved around the Covid-19 issue, such as research topics related to market returns, the pass-through of market volatility, corporate financial pressures, inclusion, integration, corporate social responsibility, intellectual capital and labor market, financial economics and entrepreneurship, migration, economic policy, etc.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha - President of HCMCOU shared: “With the desire to encourage and improve the quality of scientific discussions on policy issues which are significant to enterprises, the economy as well as the technology and science in Vietnam during the 5th VBER International Conference in 2021, HCMCOU attempts to provide all the most convenient conditions for the presenters to participate, reflect different perspectives on economic growth, the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic as well as the importance and position of Vietnam in the region and the world at the conference”

In the academic year 2020-2021, Ho Chi Minh City Open University ranked 13th in Vietnam with 173 articles published in ISI / Scopus journals. With the proud accomplishments of the intellectual labor, the VBER2021 Conference’s Organizing Committee believes and expects that reports from this year's Conference will have the opportunity to be published in prestigious international journals under the ISI/Scopus database.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha also shared about the articles presented at the previous VBER conferences have been published in high quality international journals under the ISI/Scopus Index. In which, there are 24 scientific articles presented from the VBER2017 and VBER2018 conferences published in SSCI journals; 15 research articles from the VBER2019 Conference were published in ISI journals.
