“Navigating the New Normal in Language Education” – The 10th Open TESOL International Conference in 2022”

On May 28, 2022, the Ho Chi Minh City Open University held the 10th Open TESOL International Conference (Pedagogy) under the theme of Navigating the New Normal in Language Education via Zoom and OpenTESOL's YouTube Channel. The conference aims to create conditions for national and international scientists, researchers, lecturers and teachers to share expertise, publish research, and share experiences in the field of foreign language teaching.

 

Attending the opening session, from the Ho Chi Minh City Open University, there were: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha - President, Dr. Nguyen Thuy Nga - Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuan Lan – Dean of Graduate School. This year’s virtual conference welcomes more than 650 registered participants who are administrators, researchers, lecturers, teachers, and postgraduate students of second and foreign language education of more than 100 universities, educational and training institutions from more than 30 countries around the world.

 

The 10th OpenTESOL Conference is honored to be sponsored by the Regional English Language Office (RELO) - U.S. Embassy Hanoi, Oxford University Press, and National Geographic Learning.

 

At the Conference, there were more than 50 reporting sessions on language teaching and research, publishing the latest research and proposing effective teaching methods in the post-Covid era, multi-dimensional forms of interaction when teaching. blended learning, English for Academic Purposes, new skills in the digital age, and experiential learning models.

 

The conference program features 50 presentations covering themes related to COVID-19 response and recovery, blended learning, English for Academic Purposes, digital literacies, and approaches, Experiential learning.

 

The Conference was favorably received and attracted various sharings from reporters and viewers on the most concerned topics in the foreign language teaching industry, especially in the new normal context, bringing positive trends towards the Second and Foreign Language Teaching Methods
