On the morning of July 3, 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Open University held the opening ceremony for the online bachelor's program, cohort 02/2023, at Room 202, Ho Hao Hon Campus, and livestreamed it on the Zoom platform.

The honored guests in attendance were:

• From the public media agencies: Mr. Vo Hong Thuan - Director of Tuoi Tre Newspaper Communication Center

• From the  Ho Chi Minh City Open University: Dr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang - Vice President 

• Also present were the members of the Board of Directors of the E-learning Center, representatives of the faculty leadership, and especially the new students of cohort 2 in 2023.

The E-learning Center was established in May 2016 and has received positive support for its online programs, with over 13,000 students enrolled in 13 different majors. With a flexible learning approach, the Ho Chi Minh City Open University takes pride in being a pioneer in the field of E-learning, aiming to become a high-quality university that implements open education and emphasizes practical application.

In his opening speech, Dr. Le Nguyen Quoc Khang, Vice President of the University, expressed his joy in welcoming the new students who have chosen to pursue the online bachelor's program. According to Dr. Khang, online learning has the advantage of flexibility, but students need to have self-discipline, determination, and an active attitude towards learning. Furthermore, to create favorable conditions for remote learning, the University has developed a new version of the Learning Management System (LMS) with a user-friendly interface and a stable technical system, allowing students to receive timely support from relevant departments throughout their learning process.

As part of the program, Dr. Phan Thi Ngoc Thanh, Director of the E-learning Center, announced the decision to recognize 440 online learning students of the cohort 02/2023. Dr. Thanh shared her joy and welcomed the new students joining the E-learning program.

In the atmosphere of joy and excitement, new student Nguyen Quang Truong shared, "The University's online learning program is built with high flexibility and is suitable for the learning needs of everyone. Choosing to pursue an online bachelor's program is a new beginning with many challenges, determination, and a strong motivation for learning to enhance professional competence and career development."

After completing the formalities of the ceremony, the new students were guided to access Zoom to meet with their respective faculty members. This meeting was essential and helpful for students to listen to shared information, academic regulations, and to have their questions about the program and online learning methods answered by the faculty members.
